🐾 Harvest Hills Homestead Hounds 🐾

We want to clear up a common question right away: we are not a dog breeder or rescue.

Our duo, Daisy and Riddick, have consistently proven what true livestock herding dogs should be. Because of that, we planned to breed them in order to continue their amazing heritage. (Granted, our timeline was moved up about three months due to me being in the hospital at a very inconvenient time!) These are working homestead dogs, raised with care, intention, and respect for both their health and lineage. ⸻ Here’s what that means: • ✅ Not a backyard breeder – Our dogs live on a homestead, not in a tiny pen. They’re family, guardians, and companions. • ✅ Vet care & health – All of our dogs receive veterinary care, vaccinations, and regular health checks.

• ✅ Socialization – From day one, Daisy and Riddick’s pups are handled daily, raised around kids, livestock, and other animals. They’re growing up confident and well-adjusted.

• ✅ Purposeful breeding – This is a one-time litter, planned with temperament, working ability, and bloodline preservation in mind. This is not an endless breeding cycle.

• ✅ Quality of life – Our dogs enjoy acres of pasture, cozy bedding (inside, when the work is done), and yes… more toys than most children. We love our dogs and are putting everything into making sure their pups are set up for success in their new homes.

💛 If you’re here looking for a rescue — you won’t find that on our page.

💛 If you’re here looking for a backyard breeder witch hunt — you’ll be sorely disappointed.

What you will find is a homestead committed to raising healthy, well-loved, and responsibly bred dogs who receive 24/7 care, love, and attention. This mamma does whatever it takes — including staying up for 24+ hours and sleeping in the whelping box — to make sure Daisy had a calm, loving, and supportive environment to bring her pups into the world.

✨ For the dogs who guard our gates, herd our livestock, and warm our hearts!✨

Meet Daisy – Our Homestead Hero

Daisy, our adopted Black Mouth Cur, has become an incredible herding dog and an irreplaceable part of our family. We brought her home at just six months old after a kind woman in West Virginia pulled her from a bad situation. She was filthy, underweight, and clearly in need of some serious TLC. From the moment she arrived, Daisy was eager to work. She took to the homestead life instantly — following us through daily chores, watching over the animals, and proving herself as a loyal, intelligent partner. Today, she continues to thrive, showing exactly what a second chance (and a little love) can do. She’s not just a dog — she’s part of the heart of Harvest Hills Homestead. ❤️

Meet Riddick – Our Mountain Cur Herding Dog

We first met Riddick when he was just 5 weeks old, adopted from a responsible breeder in Harrisonburg, VA. From the start, we knew he was the one. Three weeks later, on our return trip, he ran straight into our arms as if he’d been waiting for us all along. Riddick has been a natural from day one. He took to training like a champ, and now the only words he needs are: “Riddick, go to work!” With that, he’s off — wrangling whichever mischievous livestock happen to slip the fence. Loyal, intelligent, and eager to please, he’s proven himself time and time again as both a working partner and a beloved family member.

Meet Remy and Riley — Our two Great Pyrenees sisters and livestock guardians in training! These fluffy girls are quickly finding their place on the homestead and learning what it means to protect and care for all who call Harvest Hills home. Remy is our ever-vigilant guardian — attentive, alert, and always keeping a watchful eye over the pastures. She takes her job seriously and is usually the first to sound the alarm when something seems out of place. Riley, on the other hand, has taken on the role of our resident babysitter. She’s gentle, nurturing, and happiest when she’s surrounded by the puppies or snuggled up near the baby goats, keeping careful watch over her little “flock.” Together, they make the perfect team — one always on duty, the other full of heart — both growing into their roles as true protectors of the homestead. 🐐🌾
